Today’s Perk is a real steal: $6 for $20 worth of sushi at Sushilicious. Upon entering their premise, you will first notice the sleek décor that creates a delightful atmosphere. Kaiten (conveyer belt) sushi restaurants specialize in serving small plates of food via a motorized conveyer belt that revolves around the chefs. As they place fresh sushi on the belt, customers can pick up whatever they choose to eat as soon as they are within reach. It can be tempting to try every plate, thanks to creative names like "The Medusa," "Twilight Roll," "United Colors of Sushi," and the infamous syllable-hogging "Sushicalifragilisticexpialidocious." Each plate is color coded to denote their price, which ranges from $1.50 to $4.00.
As if the décor isn’t saying enough about the modernity of this restaurant, each plate has sensors to alert the chefs if they have been on the conveyer belt for too long. These plates of sushi are discarded and new ones are dispatched to ensure the sushi you eat are fresh. Also, paper is a thing of the past for the servers, who tally up the orders with their own iPod Touches. Welcome to the future of dining!
