Coming in just under the wire, Epicurean provided the WORST customer service experience of the first decade of the new millennium. I've been trying to attend a class since September. Twice, the class had to be rescheduled. That, by itself, was annoying but could have been excusable if the person who called me was the least bit apologetic about it. Whatever challenges they have regarding scheduling should NOT be made the consumer's problem. This most recent iteration of the rescheduling was via voicemail. I was asked if I could attend a class on December 15. I returned the call and had to leave a voicemail (as another reviewer pointed out, no one ever answers the phone). I said I could attend and would appreciate a call back to confirm the time and the fact that I would be registered in the class. Of course, no call ever came. The day before the class, I again left messages (and sent an email!) asking to confirm the class was still on as it had been rescheduled before and I didn't want to give up my day for something that wasn't happening. No response came so I headed over this morning and arrived early. The school was locked up tight but I figured that I was early so I'd wait. FINALLY, at the scheduled time, a young man shows up and tells me that he's the dishwasher for the school and that the class has been cancelled. He apologizes (the first apology I've ever received from Epicurean). I couldn't take my ire out on him as he's the only person connected to them that's been responsible enough to actually show up. He takes my name and contact information so that somebody might actually do something to make up for this debacle. Nothing has happened as yet. I'm not optimistic about the chances of them doing anything close to making this right. I received this class as a gift through the Orange County Register's Daily Deal. I would think the only reason a business would partner with the Register's Daily Deal program is to introduce their business to new customers. I would think that a business would want such an introduction to go as well as possible in order to create a repeat customer. Rather, they introduced themselves as a business to be avoided at all costs. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Epicurean. They are the very model of what a business should NOT do.

The Epicurean School is very excited for people to learn to cook! They have given us more Perks to sell and we look forward to cooking together!

@heysix - Each person will need a Perk for a class. They're just teaching how to mkae a romantic dinner for two. You could also learn and cook for someone else too, or you can buy another Perk and go together :)

TABLE FOR TWO - is the class I'm refering to. I'm not sure if I need to get a gift perk for the second person.
heysix - July 21, 2010 10:29am

@heysix - Which class are you looking at? They are all per person. Let me know specifically so I can help you through this! Thank you heysix!

They have a class dinner for two - would that be considered one class or one class for each person?
heysix - July 21, 2010 9:04am

Time to learn to cook! Let us know if you have any questions!
